Time to continue on the Pixie Hollow Games Train!

~There was an opening ceremony starting very soon and everyone was excited to see it! Flags of all talents were displayed… at least, the more common talents. Two talents, however, were still far too rare: Fire and Belief. Necia and Prilla had only one known guild mate apiece, ergo why they were never given uniforms or flags. As for the more common talents, the participants got cheers from their respective talents. The announcers all announced the games and even lit a special prism torch that spotlit each talent flag before the events opened.

~The rules were simple in these games: traditionally they spanned three days with the last place team eliminated after each event until the Pixie Kart Derby, where the last four teams to remain raced, then one team won. Many would compete, but which team would win? By the by, I won't reveal the exact teams or the winners because, blatant spoilers and greater risk of inaccuracy. Oh, and butterflies were used for each talent, so the last place team's butterfly was trained to fly away when it came time for the standings.

~Traditionally the games began with Leapfrog, where each talent came two by two and raced two laps around the track. Some years were pretty messy, especially if the fairy was mysophobic or amphibiophobic or too heavy, the rarest cause of all. Some years, however, there was a different event, but Leapfrog was preferred as the first.

~There were also Dragonfly Waterskiing, where you held tight to the reins of a dragonfly while skinning on a shell, as well as Mouse Polo, where you rode a mouse's back to play polo using a Pixie-Dusted acorn, Marble Cage Capture, in which you had one inside the cage, one atop and the one inside had to get the marble, then return to the post and even the Teacup Obstacle, which began with a teacup race and ended with a slug slime slide. All remaining participants would try their mettles at these events until the Pixie Kart Derby, but this year would be different. This year's Derby would be a Pixie Derby, where three were needed per talent, one on an animal's back, two in a cart. Traditionally only four teams remained to race in the Derby, but this year there were more than four because, more talents. Once the Derby was over, it was time for the specialised talent games.

~This year there were also specialised talent games such as the Potato Heft, the Carrot Toss, Ladle Croquet, Speed Obstacle, Leaf Canoeing and even Water and Ice Skating. Leapfrog used to be only for Animal Fairies, but since it was now the opening game, it was no longer a part of the line up for the specialised games. Afterwards, prizes were given out to the best in each event. Yes indeed the Pixie Hollow Games were a fun time for fairies and sparrowmen alike. Here's hoping you can enjoy the games too.

Hope you enjoyed this tale!
