Scouts on Patrol: Or Should We Say Scouts on Holiday?

Chapter 5 and the scene is alive! Ready for yet another literary dive?

~Things were flowing smoother than a body of water that reflects like a mirror and the four Scouts and their respective Animal Friends were ready for a well-deserved holiday. Daylily and Gingerbright were conversing with some other fireflies, Phoebe was setting up some chairs and parasols, Heidi was clearing away the debris and Holly was giving coiffures. Foxglove was ready to chill in the spa with Diamondwings by her side.

~"Ahh," she said, floating into the spa tub. "Nothing like a spa day to take the stress away."

~"Indeed," said Holly, joining Foxglove.

~"Cannonball!" called Gloriosa as she flew up high and dove towards the spa. "Woooooooo!"

~"Incoming!" cried Heather. "Quick, outta the spa before she lands!"

~"Or..." Heidi began before bringing the water from the spa to Gloriosa, then having Jojo Sage join in the fun.

~"Really, Heidi?" asked Foxglove as the water floated back into the spa tub with Gloriosa and Jojo Sage inside.

~Gloriosa then breached and made dolphin sounds before leaping to the ground. "Refreshing," she said.

~"Ugh, just why?"

~Magnolia stepped into the spa tub after a rough-and-tumble game of mud racing and...

~"Eww!" cried Foxglove, climbing out of the tub quickly.

~"What? At least the mud has a safe pH," said Magnolia.

~Lavender, also filthy from mud racing, joined Magnolia and Holly in the tub.

~"And I am outta there like evening wear," said Holly, leaving the tub too.

~Gardenia sniffed the spa tub, then had Jordy check it. The tub was a little too filthy for Jordy, who preferred cleaner waters. "Wow, look how filthy this water is," Gardenia told Jordy. "No matter." Gardenia tried to flick the dirt out of the tub, but instead removed the water, leaving the dirt. She managed to have the water hover for a bit so Heidi could clean the dirt out of the tub, then Gardenia put the water back, then had Jordy test the water again. "Perfect," she said before joining him.

~Foxglove and Holly got back into the spa tub and resumed relaxation. Francesca floated to the spa tub and was nice and comfortable. Phoebe and Heidi were relaxing at the chairs and parasols while Daylily was conversing with all the wildlife nearby. Elva and Jessie joined in, but Daylily had to translate for some of the animals since Elva and Jessie had rather thick accents in a few languages. Tansy and Hickory were trying to gather acorns so Onyx could make them into soup and Kyra could make them into pastries, then Saffron and Strawberry made new outfits and musical instruments from discarded plants, Labyrinth and Quarry dusted a few items to hover and Heather, Ginkgo, Lenora and Primrose worked on special decorations. Soon the setup was complete.

~"And now the finishing touch," said Xenops R. as she added a few pretty flowers, including a few that Tansy was allergic to!

~"Uh Xenops, yeah, how about no pollen?" said Primrose.

"Why not? It looks absolutely beautiful."

~"Perhaps, but have you forgotten how strong Tansy's lungs are, let alone Hickory's let alone still Heidi's?"

~Lavender suggested instead using seaweed without really speaking. Xenops didn't like the seaweed, but at least no one was allergic to seaweed.

~"Let's at least make the seaweed prettier," said Sunrise as she had Gloriosa absorb some light in her hands and apply it to the seaweed. "Now the seaweed will look pretty like a rainbow."

~With all the decorations now allergy-free and pretty, relaxation was now finalised and all at this spot enjoyed a relaxing spa day.

~Spa day over, everyone felt refreshed and ready for the next day. Daylily, however, wanted a special meeting at her home with all the Animal and Fairy Friends that hung at the swamp.

~"I want to thank you all for helping out during these last eleven weeks," Daylily told everyone. "And to commemorate, I'm giving each one a special gift for your respective homes." Daylily gave the gifts to the fairies first, then the Animal Friends. "Each Fairy Gift reflects your talent and each Animal Friend reflects your personality." Daylily began to tear up. "It just shows how much you mean to me..." Daylily sobbed, readying a petalkerchief. "Thank you all so much..." Daylily wept too hard to continue speaking, so she wept into her petalkerchief, then got a huge group hug. Daylily was indeed one of the weepiest and most emotional Scouts, and to think, she felt she didn't deserve to be a Scout because she was so emotional!

~After each looked over their gifts, everyone thanked Daylily for the gifts and went home except Gingerbright because she was home.

~"That'll do, Daylily," said Gingerbright, hugging Daylily. "That'll do."

~"Thanks for being there," sobbed Daylily before blowing her nose. "Thanks for always being there."

~The day ended with each fairy displaying their gifts in their homes and Daylily and Gingerbright looking towards the Second Star to the left, which led to the Mainland.

~"Thank you, Neverland," Daylily and Gingerbright said to the night sky. "And good night."
