14 March (March 14 in North America, hence 3.14) is when we celebrate the irrational number that is Pi. The above picture is Pi to the 25th, which is still a good deal further than I could do from memory before, which was 3.14159265359, or Pi to 11 rounding up. No matter how you try, as a common fraction, Pi is inexpressible. Also, the Pi symbol looks a bit like the Russian P (П), but a little fancier, like so (π).
There's also a joke or 29 involving a pie with a silent E, the edible kind, but this picture says enough to grasp the concept.
