Hi everyone! This is my poem entry for the Talent Mont Art Fest! I'm sorry if I have any typos or grammatical mistakes, my keyboard is slightly glitchy . I thought about this idea recently through some events that have been moving through my mind and I thought to incorporate my feelings into writing. Please leave your thoughts about it, I want to see my pros and cons with poetry.
"The Soul Behind the Portrait"
Aria Snowbelle/Happy Derp
What do you see?
Such intricate detail,
Beautiful technique,
The stroke of a brush, the work of hands,
Mediums put on display for all to see,
What do you see?
Maybe you saw a calm face,
Maybe you saw suffering and pain,
Surprise, anger, excitement, loneliness,
But there's only so much you can express,
So little seen even by the sharpest eye
What don't you see?
The chaos in her life unthinkable from her still gaze
The thunder roaming through the atmosphere,
while their vibrant portrait shone in two colors
Who said he didn't love his music, his guitar?
His dark hood?
It's just a goofy selfie,
Is it?
It's just two people playing basketball.
Are they?
It's just a can of soup... nah it's just a can of soup.
But what if...
Does the light mean anything?
Do I decode a hidden phrase?
Is the perspective hiding another side?
Sometimes you don't see, can't see,
You can't really know at all
What, who, when, where, why
The story in incomplete sentences
As they look back at you
Unable to say
