Who is everyone's favorite fantasy writer, that you might take inspiration from in your own writings?

For me, it's Shannon Hale; I've read so many of her books and they're my favorites. Her style is so beautiful. There's also Gail Carson Levine (wrote some of the Disney Fairies novels), Diane Stanely, Diana Wynne Jones...

I love Harry Potter! Ravenclaw is a great house. I should probably be one, too, but Hufflepuff is my favorite house and the hat takes your choices into consideration, so...

I've never read anything by Ray Bradbury. Which book of his is your favorite, or one you'd recommend to start with?

As someone who grew up addicted to Fantasy books, this is such a tough question!

My greatest love had to be the Thirteen Treasures series. As someone who loved faires as a kid, this was such an interesting spin away from the classical Disney interpretation! I was always a lil' edgelord, so if I wasn't reading Poison Apple books, it was these! They were by Michelle Karrison, and she's honestly one of the reasons I still love fairies after all these years. I owned each and every one of these books!

Like, come on. Even the covers look so wonderfully magical!

There were also the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. I've only been able to read Cinder and Scarlet, but even years later I still can't stop thinking about them! I don't know if I can really reccomend it since I havent finished it, but come on. They made Cinderella an Asian/Caucasian cyborg. Doesn't that sound cool enough?

It depends on the genre!
There's Stephen King, Edgar Allen Poe, J.R.R Tolkien, etc. I wish I could enumerate them all. Anything that has to do with some good character development and a concrete plot would captivate me for a while.
I personally am fond of Diana Wynne Jones too. Funny enough, I saw the film adaptation of Howl's Moving Castle before reading it.
If you like puns and are aware of rhetoric devices you should read The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster; it's a childhood favorite lite read of mine. Everything in the book is coherently structured.
Ah yes before I forget! Try annotating while you read, it's fun to dissect books. You really get to know both the author and the story better.
