Fly with you, pixies!
Player-run events have been a rich feature of this community for many years; several such as weekly FCF and annual Prom have gone on to become official FairyABC events that are staples to the game.
Hosting events is fun for everyone, and we have lots of talented fairies who are eager to contribute their ideas. We always welcome creativity, community, and fun here. There is always a reason to celebrate!
Before hosting an event, there are a few things to have prepared:
1. Make sure you are in the FairyABC Discord server
Discord is an important tool that we use to keep players updated on events and contests, as well as being a great way to get to know the community better. In our #announcements channel, you can find our monthly calendar. This calendar contains all official events and other important dates. It's important to make sure your event doesn't clash with an existing one!
2. Include a time, time zone, and server name
Fairies from all over the world play FairyABC, and it's important to let them know what time events are for them. Usually, our regular hosts include a PST and EST time so that players can translate to their own timezone. Planning what server name you are going to use in advance helps players find your party.
3. Ask for help if you're not sure
We want your event to be a blast, and are always here to help. Feel free to ask our head Event Coordinator, Juno, for any help or tips. She is a member of the FairyABC Staff and the experienced creator and host of many successful events.
4. Have fun and be creative, but consider others
What would be fun to you if you were attenting an event? What could help make it unique and memorable? If you include a dress code or other participation opportunity, make sure to write clear guidelines. Invitation graphics are encouraged. Look at invitations and recaps of other events for ideas and inspiration.
Happy Hosting!
