I originally wrote this back in 2021, but was in the Hollow when I did, so here is the poem.

As Pearl began to open her book
Upon her homework did she look
But soon she grew bored
And quickly implored
As though to compare studies to a hook.

"How does Silver do it?"
Pearl asked in a wing flit
In sheer and utter disdain
"Studying is so boring
I'd rather be touring,"
The Wintry Water Fairy complained.

With a sigh and response never more due,
"I guess even Neverfairies have homework too,
But I wanna play!
You know what they say,
All work and no play, dullness unto you."

Indeed all work and no play made Jill a dull girl,
So after a few minutes came from Pearl,
"AAAUGH! Why in Neverland even bother anymore?!
I'm utterly tired of this tedious chore!
I need to explore this magical world!

"I'm going outside to play
On this lovely Wintry day
Time feels like a crook
Stuck studying a book,"
Pearl eventually did say.

So up from her table Pearl flew
About her home so blue
Out via window
Plenty of snow
Declared, "That's what I'd rather do."

With nary a care
Pearl found a snowy polar bear
And imagined he was a horse,
But many a warm weather ungulate
Would sooner absquatulate
From winter running the course.

Next Pearl found the cutest little lagomorphs
Found in the Wintry North
Although it felt silly
Comparing this place chilly
To the mountain called Torth.

"Bunnies!" Pearl loudly exclaimed.
"They're so cute!" she then proclaimed.
Then she met cuter than funny
A new polar bear and bunny
"Aren't they adorable?" her question did claim.

Next were two snowpersons
Which did the opposite of worsen
This wondrously welcoming display
Then Pearl flew down
Toward the ground
Where a mysterious opening lay.

"Ooooh, I wonder where this leads?"
Pearl asked curiously
Next she knew,
Inward she drew
The whereabouts still as-of-yet a mystery.

"Aww, it leads nowhere,"
Said Pearl in dispair
"Okay, I gotta find a way outta here.
Wait! My map can take me back!
Won't even take a snap
To see what newness unto me draws near!"

Since this describes the events of the Hollow,
Faster than one can even swallow
Farewell to mystery bade
Pearl before returning to the glade
Where the snow again wanted her to follow.

"Well, that wasn't a very wise path,
For that felt like a big, fat, hairy gaffe,"
Deemed Pearl with a head shake
"So to avoid repeating that mistake,
Maybe I'd better reconfigure my math."

But before that, Pearl smelt something yummy
Before a gurgle came from her tummy
A lovely Sweet Shop
And a flit and a hop
Where everything ranged from crunchy to gummy.

"Sweets!" Pearl cried cheerfully.
"But I don't want another cavity,
Oh, but they look so tasty!"
Then Pearl cried hastily,
"Must! Have! Sweets!"

Cakes, pies, tarts galore,
Chiffon, cherry, strawberry and more,
Cupcakes here and there too
Ranging from red to peach to pink and blue
Pearl got all that she could carry through the door!

Pearl had so many sweets
And tasty treats
You'd think the pouch would be heavy,
But you'd be wrong
Because Pearl was incredibly strong
Enough that she could feed a bevy!

"Wonder where this leads?"
Pearl asked without having to plead.
The pinecone she found
Was hanging around
And something curious awaited indeed.

Pearl found an icy blue palace
With sparkly magic dust pouring from a chalice
"Wow, look at this magical place,
And this fountain full of magical grace!"
Pearl exclaimed, for she definitely wasn't callous.

"It feels like winter in here,"
Pearl added in a voice sincere
"Look at all these stairways of ice,
And to me the cold feels nice,
So I think unto that fountain I'll near.

"Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery,
Today is a gift,
Ergo why it's called the present,
And in here's so pleasant,
I don't mind travelling a bit adrift.

"The gift of a fish is to feed for a day,
But teaching to fish is to feed for a lifetime
The best and most beautiful things in this world
Cannot be seen or even heard,
For they must be felt with the heart,"
Quoth Pearl, back and forth did her feet sway
She had in this icy palace such a nice time,
This clad in blue soprano named Pearl
Though fun in this place was worth many a word,
She knew from this place she'd have to depart.

Pearl then grew so tired she began to yawn
Though in this realm, did it ever feel like dawn?
"I think I'd better go beddy-bye,"
She said with decreasing energy in her eyes.
And one last look at the palace and Pearl was gone.

Pearl returned to her home that night
From her adventure that did excite
"Time to set up my bed,"
Pearl sleepily said
And before long, she was finishing the day's flight.

She had a green round rug
And a blue butterfly, such a friendly bug
Upon her sunny sofa a pillow quite cosy
Although it was certainly no posy
Time for Pearl to wrap up nice and snug.

So tired was Pearl she didn't care a mite
That after she bade, "Good night"
She sat on the sofa sunflower
In the quite late hour
And soon she was asleep with only the moon as the light.

When we're done our work and play,
Then off to Dreamland we oft away
If reading at night,
I bid thee sleep tight
And hope tomorrow's a wonderful day.
