Last night I saw FernGully: The Last Rainforest again for the who-can-remember-how-many-times and noticed quite a few differences: for one, the fairies there have only one pair of wings, their magic dust comes built in, they can grow and age albeit very slowly, they all have powers related to helping the rainforest and they're reachable in Australia. Also, their wings can get wet, but seem more water-resistant and they can spin dry, something the Neverfairies can't do. I really like watching this movie from time to time because it's a fun movie despite the scary scenes, but the sequel, FernGully 2: The Magical Rescue, felt a little cheap by comparison. Both movies had this message of protecting the environment, but I felt the first movie was more worth a rewatch. Have any of you seen either movie?
